The
Kinetic Grand Championship of Humboldt County was last weekend. A 42 mile man powered race that starts in Arcata and ends in Ferndale. The sculptures have to be able to drive on streets, maneuver over sand dunes and even float in the water.
This was my second year participating and it was such a blast. Our sculpture was a giant fish made out of Cd's that were hand sewn to the frame. There were a total of seven pilots, two in the back vehicle and five in the front vehicle. Even though everybody told us our sculpture was their favorite this year, and that it was the prettiest one, we didn't win any prizes...next year I guess.
